Viral: Police Officer Gets Caught Counter-flowing Near EDSA-Taft!

In the beginning of September, the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) has made an announcement that they will be adopting a "zero-tolerance policy" in dealing with motorists as it takes over traffic management in EDSA.

HPG spokesman Chief Inspector Oliver Tanseco said all types of motorists, including those with special protocol plates will be given proper and fair sanctions. Tanseco warned drivers against showing off business cards of VIPs while being cited for traffic violations.

He also warned drivers against hitting or attempting to assault HPG troopers, reminding them that they are policemen.

HPG troopers will not hesitate to disable a vehicle by shooting its tire in case a motorist escapes from a crime,” Tanseco told dzBB.

In a viral Facebook photo, an HPG officer can be seen apprehending a police officer who was counter-flowing with the traffic. Uploaded by the Top Gear Philippines fanpage, a lot of commenters commended the HPG officer for following up on the zero-tolerance policy the announced earlier.
