Recorded 100k visitors Get "Taste of Manila" in Toronto, Canada

The second annual "Taste of Manila" or "Little Manila" of Toronto last August 22 and 23 was a huge success, gathering a crowd of over 100 thousand people of different nationalities; according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The 2-day Filipino culture celebration, cuisine and entertainment occupied the 1.3-kilometer stretch of Bathurst Street. It's crowned the biggest gathering of Filipinos in Canada for a street festival.

Philippine officials, Canadian public figures including Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Federal Senator Tobias Enverga, Canadian Finance Minister Joe Oliver, MP Mark Adler and MPPs John Carmichael and Laurie Scott also joined in the celebration. Political hopefuls for upcoming  election in October, including Michael Levitt and Marco Mendicino, took advantage of the huge crowd to swoon the public favor.

Toronto Mayor John Tory said that they are renaming the park in the Wilson-Bathurst section as "Manila City Park". "Taste of Manila" was organized by the Philippine Cultural Community Centre with the support of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto.
