Viral: Touching Story of Teen Who Died to Save Friend's Life Starts an Inspiring Movement: Remembering Rebecca

As a part of a Sophomore year assignment in December 2012, Rebecca Townsend made a bucketlist with 3 things on them: Go to Spain. Kiss in the Rain. Save a Life. The irony is that the fullfilment of the last item on her bucketlist, led to her own death.

The 17-year-old pushed a friend out of the way of an oncoming car and got fatally hit herself. When she died, her family found the bucketlist with the two items already checked off and "Save a Life" unchecked.

Rebecca Townsend's act of kindness and generosity sparked a movement called "Remembering Rebecca" with the hashtag #RememberingRebecca where people all over the world do at least one random kind deed to someone else: tipping a server with $10 or paying for another person's meal.

Even in her death, she had inspired people with her selflessness and act of courage in the Facebook fanpage her family created in her honor.
