Due to his illness, Kaleem has been bullied by other children and even refused admission to school because his hands would frighten other children. Due to poverty, his parents could not afford to provide proper care for Kaleem but after his story made headlines in a lot of international newspapers, medical experts in South India have offered their help.
Dr. Raja Sabapathy is a pioneering hand surgeon who is known for his expertise in micro surgery. He has taken on the challenge of helping Kaleem with his hand condition. 'There is no treatment for this boy. He is a devil's child. This is just because his parents must have committed a wrong deed at some point in their life,' said Shamim's brother.
Superstitious residents who claim the boy is the Devil's Child say that the surgery will be useless.
