According to Bandila, ABS-CBN's late night newscast, the victims in Batangas are preparing to file a large-scale estafa case against One Dream Global Marketing Incorporated. One victim, who requested the squelching of his true identity, said ODGMI promised a payout equivalent to 40% of their investment in just 4 days.
The alleged marketing firm, which was registered at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in June had offered beauty and household products on their website. The recruiters also boasted of different purchases, such as cars, as the product of their investments. However, victims claim that they were only made to invest cash and not sell products.
When the company's office in Lipa closed down on July 12, their website automatically redirects to their Facebook page, which was eventually removed as well. The Quezon City office employees have apparently started moving out as well and the recruiters could not be contacted for clarification on the issue.
Arnel and Jobelle Gacer, 2 of the alleged brains of the scam have been sued for syndicated estafa.
