As been stated in a reliable site, an estimated 5.2 million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease and almost two-thirds of American seniors living with Alzheimer’s are women.
And in this beautiful short video titled “Forget Me Not” for Thai Life Insurance, one couple’s story explores how the wife’s Alzheimer’s disease has revealed the strength of their marriage.
The woman named Wandee suffers from Alzheimer’s and can’t remember each individual day. In fact, she doesn’t remember that Boonsong is her husband. But that doesn’t stop him, (Boonsong) from keeping their wedding vows and caring for her through sickness and in health. In the video, Boonsong does everything to keep his memories with Wandee alive and never gives up on taking care of her as the experts search for a cure.
“To take care of you for the remainder of your days,” Boonsong said.
That statement on their wedding day is definitely what made people into tears. The ones that could really understand the real meaning of this are those who experienced or are currently experiencing to love more than they can do for themselves.
Loving is sacrifice, it is not just a bed of roses. The moment we will say that we are truly in love is the time when we are giving more than we can without asking anything in return.
Lastly, when the woman asked her husband, “Are we taking a walk? You won’t be tired?” she said. The husband replied him while smiling and looking directly into her eyes, “No.”
This will definitely make people remember the main reason why love is very complex yet a very simple thing. When we love, we experience many things like heartbreaks, sacrifices, hardships and other sort of painful things. But at the end of the road, if we truly love wholeheartedly, true happiness will definitely come our way.
What can you say about this story of a true and everlasting love?
